Turtle With Wings
Look at this beautiful hand carved turtle with wings, lovingly made from parasite wood. Makes a great conversation piece, also a unique gift idea.
Parasite wood is a parasitic plant that grows on a host tree. It feeds off the tree’s sap and is so strong that even when it’s host is dead this plant doesn’t decay. The unique structures sometimes called “wood roses” are the result of a parasitic mistletoe plant that grows on trees in Bali, commonly the chinaberry tree. The plants are collected by artisans who create wonderful carvings.
